Convert Images Between Common Formats

Convert Image takes JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and TIFF uploads and converts them to the format you pick: JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. Reach for it when a website, app, print service, CMS or document workflow only accepts a certain file type.

Pick the Right Output Format

Choose JPG for broad compatibility and photos. Choose PNG for sharp graphics, screenshots and transparency. Choose WebP or AVIF for smaller web files when the destination supports them. TIFF works as an input here, not an output: the converter reads TIFF files and writes them out in one of the four formats above.

Transparency Notes

JPG does not support transparency. If you convert a transparent PNG or WebP to JPG, transparent areas need a background color. Use PNG or WebP when cutouts, logos or graphics must keep transparent edges.

Batch Conversion

You can convert multiple images within the upload limit. Website uploads, product image folders, client assets, app screenshots and design exports tend to need one consistent format, and a batch run gets the whole set there together. Multiple outputs are packaged as a ZIP.

Quality Settings

For lossy formats such as JPG, WebP and AVIF, quality settings affect file size and detail. Higher quality usually looks better but creates larger files. Lower quality can help with upload limits, but text and fine edges may soften. For screenshots with small text, use a higher quality setting or PNG.

After Conversion

Open the output and check transparency, colors, sharpness and file size. If the image also needs new dimensions, use Resize Image. If the converted file is still too large for upload, use Compress Image after choosing the final format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats can I upload?

The tool accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF, TIF and TIFF files. If a file fails, check that it is not damaged and that the format matches one of the accepted types shown on the upload area.

Which output format should I choose?

Choose JPG for broad compatibility and photos, PNG for transparency or sharp graphics, WebP for web images and AVIF when small modern image files are supported by the destination.

Will transparency be preserved?

Transparency is preserved only when the output format supports it. PNG and WebP can support transparency. JPG does not, so transparent areas need a background color.

Can I adjust image quality?

Yes, for formats that use quality settings such as JPG, WebP and AVIF. Higher quality usually means a larger file. Lower quality can reduce file size but may soften detail.

What is AVIF?

AVIF is a modern image format that can create small files with good visual quality. It suits web images, but not every older app or website accepts it.

Why did my transparent image get a white background?

This usually happens when converting to JPG or another format that does not support transparency. Use PNG or WebP if transparent edges need to remain transparent.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

You can, as long as the run fits the upload limits. All converted images are delivered in one ZIP, so a batch stays in a single download instead of scattering across your downloads folder.
