You can read the result on the page and download a TXT report if you want to keep the summary with your notes.
Short summary gives you the main idea and the most important points. Key points is better when you want a fast list of takeaways. Detailed review adds more context and includes items worth checking in the source PDF. For a long report or policy document, detailed review is usually the most useful starting point.
The tool works best with PDFs that already contain selectable text. If you can highlight words in a PDF reader, the summarizer can usually read the document text. If the file is a scan, a phone photo or an image only PDF, run OCR PDF first. OCR adds a text layer so the summarizer has real document text to work with.
Use the summary for orientation, then check names, dates, amounts, obligations, legal terms and anything that could affect a decision inside the source PDF. If a document is too long for one AI request, split it into smaller sections and summarize the parts that matter most.
AI assisted tools are optional. Standard PDF tools do not use an AI provider for ordinary conversion work. For PDF Summarizer, the document text needed for the request may be sent to the configured AI provider. Uploaded files and generated reports are removed automatically shortly after processing.

Yes, if the PDF is text based and the readable text fits the current AI request size. Very long reports are better handled by chapter or section. If the upload is too large for summarizing, PDFem will ask you to split the PDF into smaller parts instead of sending an oversized AI request.
No summary should be treated as a complete replacement for the source PDF. AI can miss details, shorten context or phrase something too broadly. Use the summary to understand the document faster, then check the original PDF for names, dates, numbers, obligations and anything that affects a decision.
