What Repair Can Do
PDF repair focuses on the file structure around the pages. It may rebuild cross-reference data, rewrite the document and remove broken parts that prevent the file from opening. When the page content is still present, this can be enough to create a usable copy.
What to Expect
Repair is a recovery attempt, not a guarantee. A badly damaged PDF may still fail and some extras such as bookmarks, forms, attachments or annotations may not survive. Always open the repaired file and check the pages before sending or archiving it.
